Frugal Lifestyle

Snowball [excited]: Here am I, trying to educate these animals! *sigh* Oh! I’ll tell you how I toiled day and night just for these Animal Committees!

Narrator 1 [politely]: This is ____________ (group name) from class 104 presenting to you how Snowball tried to educate and change the animals!

Snowball [excitedly]: Let’s see what the animals need.. Right! The hens need to produce more eggs.

Narrator 2: And so Snowball created the Egg Production Committee.

Snowball [excited]: Alright, we’ll start with the eggs.

Hens: *cluck cluck sound effect* Um.. how do we go about doing this?

Snowball: *sigh*

Narrator 1: Seeing that his Egg Production Committee failed as the hens did not understand instructions, he tried creating the Clean Tails League for the cows.

Cows: *background moo sounds* This is absurd! We don’t need any clean tails, we can do without them all the same – see? We can swat these flies even if the tail is not clean.

Narrator 2: Apparently Snowball did not take into account that cows had no need for tails, so Snowball proceeded to create the Whiter Wool Movement for the sheep.

Narrator 1: The sheep were horrified as Snowball and his helpers brought pails of a liquid of weird colour. They started to panic and stormed out of the barn. The liquid was a bleach meant to whiten the wool of the sheep, but it smelled horrible.

Snowball [troubled]: Oh no. What do I do now? My committees have been unsuccessful.

Narrator 2: Regardless of his failures, he started the Wild Comrades’ Re-education Committee, meant to tame the rats and rabbits. These animals took advantage of the privileges they were granted.

Narrator 1: The rats stole some of the food supply from the farm and the rabbits ate some of the vegetables.

Rats [hurriedly]: Quick! Run away, they’ll get us! Get the food and run! *shuffling sounds*

Animals [aggressively]: Get back here! Don’t steal our food!

Narrator 2: The rabbits met with a similar situation, munching on the hay grown in the hayfield, leaving a whole patch of half-eaten and soggy hay. These animals behaved the same as before.

Narrator 1: The cat decided to join the Re-education Committee all of a sudden.

Cat [thinking to himself]: Oh yes! I could take advantage of this opportunity to eat some bird meat. Yeh heh heh.. (evil laughter)

Narrator 2: So the cat approached a group of sparrows on a roof.

Cat [excited]: All animals are now comrades! So now, you could perch on my paw. I would very much like this company!

Sparrows [angry]: Why should we? We see nothing to earn your company! Now get lost.

Narrator 1: The sparrows kept their distance, away from the cat. They saw his intentions to eat them, but hid it.

Sparrows [angry]: Now don’t bother us!

Narrator 2: Snowball, seeing as the committees failed, created reading and writing classes. These were a huge success. Almost every animal on the farm was literate in some degree.

Dogs [arrogantly]: Hey animals, we can read! Could you? Haha. We wouldn’t read though, there’s nothing better to read but the Seven Commandments..

Muriel [response]: Oh yeah? I could read better than you dogs! I even read to others in the evenings. You should really read.

Benjamin [response]: Actually, there isn’t anything worth reading yet.

Clover [response]: I can’t put words together! *cries*

Boxer [response]: You’re right. I can’t read, I’m not very bright. *sigh* I don’t even know the first letters of the alphabet!

Mollie [response, giggly]: I don’t need to know all these! I only need to know my name! My name’s the only thing that’s worth spelling!

Narrator 1: And Mollie ran out of the barn to continue gazing at her reflection in the water. She then spelled her name out with twigs, only to be stamped on by Boxer who was trying to spell out the first four letters of the alphabet.

Narrator 2: He got to D when he accidentally stepped on the twigs. Mollie cried.

Snowball: Finally, something I did that is a success! However, not all animals know the whole alphabet. That’s how limited they are, I guess..

Narrator 1: Since most of the stupider animals were not able to learn the Seven Commandments by heart, Snowball reduced the Seven Commandments to a single maxim, “Four legs good, two legs bad.”

Snowball: Birds, you don’t have to panic! *background chirping* Your wings should be counted as legs too!

Narrator 2: The sheep then took a liking to this maxim and said it to every animal they saw.

Snowball: Hey sheep -- *interrupted*

Sheep: Four legs good, two legs bad!

Narrator 1: They loved it so much, they would keep saying it while following the animals they saw, pestering and stalking them.

Narrator 2: Napoleon took no interest in Snowball’s committees.

Napoleon: The education of the young are more important! And so I’ll be responsible for the puppies’ education.

Narrator 1: And so he disappeared. And thus Snowball’s efforts to educate and change the animals were mostly unsuccessful except for the reading and writing classes. Besides, Napoleon rejected his ideas, but he always did so anyway.

Leaf: Chapter 2

"Wait"

Raymond paused in midstep. His feet hovering a few inches from the ground and putting it down again. "We have nothing to talk about."

"Can you have a chat with me? For old times sake?"

"Do you honestly think i would? After what you did?" Raymond whispered, barely loud enough for her to hear.

"I don't like to use this but.. this is an order."

She could see Raymond clench his hands in helplessness, elite students were allowed to give out orders to other students as the school authorities wanted them to have a taste of leadership.

Raymond turned around slowly, a snarl upon his face, "Giving out orders eh?" He stepped forward,"Do you have the right to give them to me?"

"I... its...."She started weakly, backing away from the advancing Raymond.

"No. You betrayed my family, my parents were killed because of you. Esther Rael." He said softly,"and I will never forgive or forget what you did."

"He threatened to kill my dad...I... I had no choice."Esther cried, tears brimming from beyond her eyes.

"But you can't bring my parents to life can you?" Raymond said,"until you can then, maybe I would just forgive you." Turning away, he walked back towards the school.

Esther sank down near a willow tree, her hands on her head, sobbing quietly.

Leaf: Chapter 2

Raymond lay on the ground, his face facing downwards he could hear Nore laughing with his buddies, although he could feel the grass tickling his face, he knew that if he tried to get up he would just be knocked down again, giving Nore more chances to humiliate him.

Suddenly, Nore's and his bodyguards' laughter quickly died down to hushed whispers. A strong hand grabbed his collar from behind and yanked Raymond up from the ground, Norn leaned in and spat onto his face "Listen meat, if you try to tell anyone about this matter or try to run away from me again, you know whats gonna happen." he snarled, drawing his finger across his throat for emphasis before snapping his fingers at one of his henchman behind Raymond. In a flash, he was back onto the ground, tossed unceremoniously by the person holding him.

Raymond turned his head and spat out the grass that had that had been shoveled into his mouth by the force of the throw. He winced as he lifted himself to sitting position, the fracture was more serious than it seemed, his hand was swelling to about twice the size of its original.

"Are you ok?"

He turned his head and nearly almost regretted it, an elite class girl stood there looking concerned. An elite class was a class of students which received the best of all the three classes, although many were rich, there were some exceptions, such was the girl standing in front of him.

"What do you want?" Raymond hissed out through clenched teeth

"I-"

"Forget it." Raymond lifted himself up and hobbled over where his book fell.

Picking up the book, Raymond turned away, away from the friend he once knew.

Leaf: Chapter 2

Norn grabbed him up by his tunic’s collar, lifting up Raymond to his face. Raymond managed a weak smile before asking, “uhm- nice day isit’?”

“Yes, very nice. For the fact that you have managed to avoid me for nearly three days now” he replied, his voice slick with malice.

Although Raymond saw a movement from the side of his vision, he could not have steeled himself well enough to receive the bone jarring blow Norn given him. He fell to the ground, getting up he wiped blood from the side of his mouth and spat out some of the grass.

“Is that nice? Wanna have some more?” asked Norn, cracking his knuckles and advancing forward.

Raymond raised his fists in defense to the blows that were sure to come when Norn laughed, “Come on, trying to defend yourself against me? You are pathetic, lowest in physical training class and barely scraping through the fighting class. What right do you have to raise your arms against mine?" Nore swung his arms again smashing through Raymond's defense nearly immediately. Raymond heard a sickening crunch before he was flung back.

Now this time, he didn't get up.

Leaf: Chapter 2

In their quest for knowledge and purity, the humans built vast structures of institutions and libraries to educate their young for the quest. Over time, a new breed appeared, they had skills which where suited to serve the quest, gradually these people gained names, such were, Rangers , Mages and Fighters, these skills although could be acquired, many commoners did not bother to learn and educate themselves, those who did however, found that their skills could not match in talent with those born with it. Thus, naturally the task of defending the human kingdom fell onto the breed of the gifted ones. Such was that soon, specialized schools were set up.

One such member of the instutions, stood in the garden, his black hair matted with sweat from standing under the burning sun for an hour. The name on his tunic identified him as a member of St Gras institution, his name, which was sewn under the school’s name, was Raymond Chine. He stood up to his full height, looking around. He could sworn that he heard voices. Just as he was about to make a reference of the plant he saw to the book he held in his hand, a full force tackle knocked him off his feet from behind. Dazed he turned over to see who his attacker was, it was Norn, a eighteen year old who had been trailing him for the past two days. Although Norn was older than himself by to years, but by his size, he could easily have been a twenty year old.

By the look of Norn’s and his henchmen’s faces, Raymond knew that they weren't amused by his game of hide and seek.

Leaf : Chapter 2

We have renamed Abosolute Resolute to Leaf..

Absolute Resolute

The shepherd rose up from his grass bed, and advanced towards the door, a portal outside, out of his primitive home. His sheep were scampering into a fenced area, looking for shelter from the downpour. He noticed slight movements on a cliff not-so-far, and when he almost lost interest, he saw a speck of light on the edge of the cliff. The light proceeded to ascend into the skies.

There was the distant sea below the cliff, in clear sight but slightly fogged out by rain, and waves ebbed to and fro in the shore. Still curious about the source of the cry, he ventured out by himself. The raindrops started splashing on his body. His feet shuffled along the grass, gathering slight mud. The shepherd looked in the direction of the cliff as he walked, seemingly oblivious to the rain.

A few minutes passed and the rain subsided, slowly and steadily. The shepherd's feet felt moist soil every step they took, the rain had been absorbed into the soil.

Absolute Resolute

The figure hissed slightly, its prey was lost. It turned slowly around, "Come out.", it said softly. The breeze fluttered its cloak slightly before anything took shape. Out of what seemed like shadows, a green hand appeared, followed by a leather tunic. It was a umbla gllaos a creature from the Lands. It was ugly even by the worst far standards. One which looked like the leader hesitatingly stepped forward, it bowed "What do you want my lord?".

It sighed, "What did i tell you to do?"

The creature fidgeted slightly on the spot before replying,"To trap the human."

"Now he has died, due to him being cornered. What do you think I should do?"

"What I think..?"

The figure twitched something under its cloak, the creature saw it too late when it tried to run, it could not move. Its hands started to warp...

Away on a pasture, a shepherd awoke to what he heard as a inhuman cry of pain and horror.

Absolute Resolute

As they both turned, the human was the first to react, the dagger he held in his hands flashed down onto the figure. No human could have survived that blow but the figure just nicked it aside casually. The human snarled, there was numerous wounds on his body and the figure just added another one. He stepped back to get another leap at the figure, the figure just stood there with an amused smile on its thin lips then the human felt thin air. He redrawed his footing immediately. He was standing at the edge of the cliff with the hard waves pounding the rocks below, there was no way of escape for him. He stood up at his full height, it was so ironic, one moment ago he had been chasing it, now he was cornered. The small ruby he dangled around his neck tapped against his shirt lightly due to the winds.

He now knew what he had to do.Turning his head upwards, he let the rain fall into his mouth.

With a longing look at the heavens, he threw himself off the cliff.

And yet again he pounced towards the towering figure, this time with a dagger in his hand. The figure did not blink an eye, its cold blue eyes staring into those similar eyes of the human. A warm breeze blew. His fringe fluttered in the rhythm of the breeze, occasionally moving up and down. The figure took an aggressive stance, poising himself. Their gaze met.

A deafening clash was heard in the distance.
